- ● DGFT provides the authorization certificate based on quantity, product type and the country of origin.

| Legal Consequence |
As per FTDR Act 1992, punitive action would be taken against steel importers failing to register under SIMS in advance or found to furnish wrong data. |

- ● Requires entry of Registration number and Expiry Date on Bill of Entry to enable customs clearance of consignment.
